Country of Origin - S. Africa
How to grow - Prefers full sun, but may need protection from mid day sun if very hot and bright, this can scorch the leaves. Very tough once established, very drought and flame tollerant! Likes a gritty well draining soil to grow in, never allow to stay wet for long periods. Not frost hardy.

Description - Similar in looks to the Jade plant, Portulacaria has smaller stems and leaves. The stems are red in colour and the leaves are a glossy green, in the right conditions it can reach 4.5m tall! The varigated version grows exactly the same but with the additional colouring the leaves, under sun stress and hot conditions a lovely pink hue will come on the leaves also
